OUR FREE-STYLE WRESTLING FIGHTERS WON IN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.On 25-26th of January II-nd Juniors State Free-Style Wrestling Championship dedicated to the memory of shakhids died in "Dashalti" operation during Karabakh war was held in Sport Palace in Baku. There were 290 sportsmen from 27 towns struggling for prizes. 2 Ganja fighters - Parviz Mamedov ("Zenit") and Turgay Mamedov ("Dinamo") won all fights and gained main prizes. |

TOWN CHAMPIONSHIP ON JUDO WAS HELD AMONG JUNIORS.On January the 25th a championship on judo among junior born in 1988-89 years in the sport hall of "Dinamo" society. 70 representatives of sport societies "Dinamo", "Spartak", "Tahsil", CYSS (Children and Youth Sport School) ¹1 and CYSS ¹2 partipated in the competition. CYSS ¹2 sportswomen Asya Gasanova, Gulkhanim Alekberova, Aynura Gasanova, Sevinc Yusubova, Vafa Rzayeva, Zakhra Gvaramidze and Khayala Gasanova of "Tahsil" center won the champion title in their weight category. Champions among sportsmen - Elvar Osmanov (CYSS ¹1), Bashir Aliyev (Dinamo), Vusal Aleskerov (Tahsil), Amil Gasymov (Dinamo), Samir Namazov (CYSS ¹2), Sabuhi Geydarov (Tahsil), Nurid Suleymanov (CYSS ¹1), Vasif Gasymov (CYSS ¹1). According to the towns team head trainer Vagif Malikov, the competition winners gained the opportunity to participate in Republic Championship to be held on the first decade of february in Baku. |

GANJA SAMBO FIGHTERS SUCCESSESRegular Azerbaijan Championship was held on 23-25th of January in Baku Olympic Complex. More than 300 sportsmen from the countries towns and regions came on tatami. The winners were defined according to 3 age categories - juniors,youth, men. Ganja Sambo fighters won 4 gold medals in junior category - Fuad Aliyev (65 kg),Eshan alinagiyev (70 kg), Araz Mukhtarov (74 kg) and Shakhaddin Bayramov (87 kg). The winners are trained by the CYSS trainer, master of sports Djeykhun Bayramov. Their team mates Orkhan Kerimov (81 kg) took 2nd place, Amil Qasymov (56 kg) and Ali Gadzhiyev (74 kg) took 3rd place. The winners will participate in Europe Junior and Youth Championship, to be held in Shaulyay, Litvania. |

NGO AND MCM RELATIONS ARE STRENGTHENINGOn January 27th "Internews Azerbaijan" Ganja Representative held a seminar "Non-Governmental Organizations and Mass Communication Media Relations" in the "Ganjabasar" newspaper office. There were 9 NGO's - Mother's Society "Tomris", Public Union "Odjag", GABA (Ganja AgriBusiness Association), Reabilitation Center, Centre for Orphans Juridical and Social Defence, Independent Center "For Civil Society", Public Society "Maishat", Society "Bilik", "Ganja Business Group" and 4 Mass Media representatives - "Ganjabasar" newspaper, "LIDER-TV", "ANS-TV", Ganja Independent Journalism Center on the meeting. A decision on creating NGO Coordination Center and monthly meetings was adopted at the meeting. |

CONFERENCE " NO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN"On 28th of January a conference "No violence against women" was held in Ganja by the "Society of Mothers and Children Development" in the framework of the project of creating the "Ganja Reabilitation Center for Women". Representatives of Tovuz, Shemkir and Naftalan also participated in the conference. |
