ZONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP AMONG JUNIORSA zonal karate championship among juniors was held in Ganja Olympic Sports Complex. About 150 sportsmen from Ganja, Qazakh, Tovuz, and Shemkir participated in the competition. Pupils of Ganja CYSS (Children Youth Sports School) ¹2 trainer Ramiz Ibragimov succeded there. Baxtiyar Mirzoyev, Ali Aliyev, Orxan Nazarov won first place in their weight category. Sakhavat Mirzoyev was the second, Eshgin Gurbanov the third. Bakhtiyar Mirzoyev will fight for the Prezident Cup in the International Tournament which will be held in the March. |

GANJA BOX TEAM TOOK SECOND PLACESports Centre "Takhsil" Open Box Championship among juniors born 1987-1988 was held in Baku. 178 sportsmen from 12 town and regions participated in the competition. Our town was represented with boxers of CYSS ¹1 and sports centre "Takhsil". According to team scoring Ganja was second, Sumgait was the first, Baku the third. |

THE BEST CHESS SCHOOL AND CHESS PLAYER OF THE YEARFor the second year the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic helds competition on the naming the best sports school, chess school, sportsman, chessplayer and trainer of the year. The Ganja Chess School (director, honoured trainer Salman Djavadzade) and it's pupil, the champion of the republic among juniors Nidjat Agayev were among the winners. |

GAJNA CHESS PLAYERS ON THE "FADJR" TOURNAMENTOn the 5th of february traditional chess tournament "Fadjr" started in the Islamic Republic of Iran. There are participiants from many countries of the world. Ganja Chess School pupils Vuqar Rasulov (Azerbaijan Champion among juniors up to 12 year) and Ayaz Mamedov also play on the tournament, which is to be finished at the end of February. |

MASS RACE WAS ORGANIZED TO CELEBRATE THE YOUTH DAYGanja Department of the Ministry of Youth and Tourism organized some actions to celebrate the Youth Day. It was opened with the mass race which started at the Culture Palace "Tokhudjuluq", run for 1.5 km and finished on the "Azadliq" square. "GANJABASAR" YOUTH SUCCESSFUL DEBUTThe Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism awarded the talented youth of the republic. The rewards were presented in several categories: the best young composer, talented artist, director, successful sportsman, tourism worker and others. "Ganjabasar" newspaper journalist Orkhan Ganjasoy was rewarded with Honoured Premium "The Best Debut of theYear" for his successes in the field of journalism. |
