"METALURG" TEAM SUCCESSFUL STARTAzerbaijan Amateur Futbol Championship started in the beginning of february. Ganja was represented with the "Metallurg" team with new members whose average age is 16-18 years. The chief trainer is Tofig Aliyev. Only two of zonal teams -Agstafa, Qazakh, Tovuz and Shemkir- will succed to final stage. On it's first play on the 11 of february "Metallurg" won "Geyazan" (Qazakh) with 8:1 count. |

TOWN CHECKERS TOURNAMENT AMONG JUNIORSOn the 5th of february Checkers Town Championship among juniors finished in the Ganja Chess School. School ¹27 student Ibragim Quliyev won the 1st place. The second place was taken by his school mate Mirza Quliyev, school ¹ 2 student Konul Abbasova took the 3rd place. According to the results of the competition Ibragim Quliyev will participate in the Republic Championship. |

AMONG THE WINNERS OF "FADJR" TOURNAMENTTraditional Chess Tournament "Fadjr" among juniors was held from 4th to 9th of february in Teheran. 120 young chessplayers from Iran, Qatar, UAE, Azerbaijan and Armenia participated. Member of charity society "Kur-Khazar" Vuqar Rasulov and Ayaz Mamedov represented Ganja in the Azerbaijan team. Both chessplayers returned as winners. Ayaz Mamedov was the second among 12 year juniors and Vuqar Rasulov won the 1st place among 14 year juniors. |

HONOURED TRAINER'S JUBILEE WAS CELEBRATEDAn International Tournament among juniors of 1986-88 years was held after 50th anniversary of honored trainer of republic Ziyabil Abbasov. Sportsmen from Baku, Mingechevir, Siyazan, Evlakh and Ganja of 52, 60, 74, 81 kg weight category participated in the contest in Ganja Olympic Sport Complex. Ganja sportsmen won in all categories. Tournament winners Mekhamn Abdullayev, Elshan Alinagiyev, Araz Mukhtarov (CYSS¹1) and Amil Gasymov (Dinamo). |

ONE BRONZE MEDAL FROM CHESS TOURNAMENTRepublic Chess Championship among youth men and women of 18-20 age finished in Baku on the 6th of february. 53 chessplayers from Baku, Ganja, Ali-Bayramly, Geychay, Sumgayit and other towns. Svetlana Rzayeva was the best of Ganja team. She took 3rd place having gained 7 points in 20 year category. Ganja State Univercity student Rashad Kerimov and 29 school Nidjat Agayev took 4th and 5th places with 5.5 points. The tournament winners will participate in the world championship in India. |

CYSS ¹1 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT HAS FINISHEDOn the 8th of february Children Youth Sport School ¹1 football tournment finished. The competition which lasted for 1 month hosted sportsmen born in 1989-90 years. According to the result of the last match between "Avtozavod" and "Khazar", the first place was taken by "Kapaz", second "Dinamo", "Shakhadat" was the 3rd. "Khazar" team player Eldaniz Aliyev was marked as the best player. The youngest player Malik Babayev was also given a present. |
